World-view impacts your decisions

I recently wrote, and am about to publish, a white paper on usability as a philosophy. I deal heavily with communicating the proper message to the proper demographic, which is what Seth points out.
It's hard not to jump to the conclusion that because they don't "get it", that they're stupid. In my opinion, it's not the person receiving the message who's responsible for understanding, it's your responsibility to make sure they understand.
